About Us

The University of Kentucky has a rich tradition of providing quality continuing education opportunities to health care professionals in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and beyond. That tradition continues today through a joint effort between the Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine.

With an increased emphasis placed on interdisciplinary approaches to patient care, the Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine entered into a joint venture with a clear vision: To be one of the nation's premiere providers of continuing education for pharmacists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Our Mission

In accordance with the University of Kentucky's education, research, and service missions, the Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine Continuing Education program delivers quality educational activities responsive to advances in medicine, pharmacotherapy, and patient care with an emphasis on improving patient and population health in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The program offers pharmacists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals worldwide an opportunity to maintain and enhance their professional competencies in medicine and medication use through interactive live activities and enduring materials.

Our Goals

• Adhere to the standards for quality set forth by the national accrediting bodies
• Enble healthcare professionals to remain current in the advances in medicine, pharmacotherapy, and patient care
• Assess the educational needs of pharmacists and physicians
• Develop, deliver, and evaluate quality educational activities
• Conduct cost-effective and efficient educational activities
• Present educational activities in a convenient and appropriate manner for targeted audiences
• Enhance the national stature of the College of Pharmacy and College of Medicine
• Create, implement, and evaluate innovative strategies for content delivery and learning outcomes
